Organiser's Description
This is a stunning location for an open water triathlon. The event begins with an open water swim across the geographical centre of Lake Windermere, starting from the eastern shore at Cockshott Point, Bowness; the roads will be open during the race but the early start will ensure they are relatively quiet for the bike leg, especially on the road to Ambleside - Windermere has always been deemed a cyclists triathlon and a strong bike section can make up for a bad swim; the fast and flat lapped run heads out along the shore of Windermere.
