YMCA North London is excited to announce their first ever Santa Run event on Saturday 8th December 2018 at Alexandra Palace in London, Greater London. This festive event includes 3 family fun runs, with a 5k race for ages 16+, a 2.5k race for young people aged 10-15, and a 1k race for children aged 5-9. Participants can enjoy the holiday spirit while raising money for the YMCA's housing charity and health and well-being programme. With a fundraising target of £15,000, every contribution helps make a difference in the community. Join in the fun and spread goodwill by participating in the Santa Run and supporting a great cause. We bring you glad tidings and news that YMCA North London will stage our first ever Santa Run on Saturday 8th December – 3 family fun runs set in the grounds of Alexandra Palace. We think it is the first Santa Run to be held in North London.
This will appeal to fun runners, parents, and children, with a 5k for ages 16+, a 2.5k for young people aged 10-15, and a 1.k for children aged 5-9.
The Santa Run 2018 will be raising money for our housing charity (which operates the hostel for young people at risk of homelessness), as well as our health and well-being programme, that last year, gave out 19,500 concessions for local people and families on low incomes at our adult fitness centre, at our children’s activity centre, and our out-of-school childcare programme.
£6 could help provide three children from a deprived background with a meal at our breakfast club
£15 could provide three wash kits for young homeless people
£50 could buy a pair of work boots needed for work in construction
£80 could support discounted after-school club sessions for parents on low incomes
£150 could allow a young person to attend a two - week work placement in the City
We hope to reach our Santa Run fundraising target of £15,000.
It’s the season of goodwill and giving, so we hope it won’t be too difficult to raise sponsorship, particularly if you and your friends and family pictures of your runners training and taking part in your Santa suit!
