Rivington Trail Half Marathon

Horwich, Lancashire

Old Will's Ln, Bolton BL6 7RU, UK

Sat 3rd October 2015

Organiser's Description

Now established as a trail classic, this half marathon goes from strength to strength. Starting with a lap of Rivington and Blackrod School field, the next mile is a climb on an old cobbled track towards Rivington Pike before dropping back down to Rivington Barns and Rivington Green. From here it's partly on road before passing Yarrow Reservoir, down to Angelzark Reservoir. The run along the Reservoir is flat and scenic but that doesn't last long! A nasty little climb takes runners up above the Reservoir, with great views across the water to the moors beyond. It's uphill from the 10mile point to Yarrow Reservoir, then the return run to the finish at Rivington and Blackrod School.
