Organiser's Description

The event, which is in its 31st year has previously been run by the North Wales Road Runners and Always Aim High Events are proud to add this fantastic race to community events. This not-for-profit event will continue to support local charities as well as the North Wales Road Runners Club.

Starting on the iconic Victorian Promenade in Llandudno the route takes runners around the awe-inspiring Great Orme with its stunning views of Snowdonia, Anglesey and beyond. With hundreds of runners taking part year after year, it is a fabulous start to the running season.

How to Get There

Llandudno has good transport links and is easy to find. Use the postcode LL30 2LP to locate the centre where the event is based.

TRAIN

The nearest train station can be found in Llandudno and is just 0.5 miles walk away from the start line. London Euston, Birmingham International and Manchester Piccadilly are all served by excellent links to Llandudno.

There’s quick, straightforward access from the North West along the M56 and A55. Motorway links with the Midlands are good too, and the same roads – the M6, M5 and M1 – also bring the North wales coast within easy reach of the South of England.

Course Details

Starting on the on the iconic North Shore of the Llandudno Promenade, you’ll run past the iconic pier and onto the Great Orme itself. With sea views on one side and towering cliffs on the other, you surely won’t notice the incline under your legs in this first section! At the far side of the Great Orme is the ‘Rest And Be Thankful' cafe, which marks you're close to the halfway point. No time to rest, but get ready to be thankful because the wonderful flying descent is just ahead! You’ll flow down the road towards West Shore, with incredible views of Conwy castle and Anglesey ahead and to your right. At 8km you’ll arrive back in Llandudno town, running along the historic Victorian streets that will take you back to the Promenade and the Finish Line.
