Plymouth Breakwater Swim

Plymouth Sound

Plymouth PL1 2NX, UK

Sun 4th August 2019

Organiser's Description

This swim takes place across a busy stretch of water so will start early at around 08.30am. Registration takes place on the historic Barbican before swimmers are taken out by boat from Commercial Wharf to the Breakwater. Some 40 minutes to two hours later they will arrive on shore at Tinside Beach to warm applause and warm soup. They will also receive a medal and enamel mug.

The swim is 4k and we ask that all those taking part have experience of open water swimming and should be able to complete around 160 lengths of a 25m pool. Event Water Safety will provide the craft and expert cover for the event. To date the Breakwater swim has raised over £175,000 for the Chestnut Appeal for Men’s Health.
