The Quayside 5k features an exciting A-Race with a generous prize structure, attracting both beginners and seasoned athletes alike. Meanwhile, the Junior Quayside 3k offers a fantastic opportunity for younger runners to experience the thrill of racing. With dedicated PB Pacers in the B-Race to guide participants at various paces, everyone can feel motivated to reach their goals. Join us for a day of fun, camaraderie, and achievement on the beautiful Quayside!

QUAYSIDE 5K & 3K JUNIOR RACE- WEDNESDAY 6th August 2025
Run around the flat, out-back course along the Newcastle-Gateshead Quayside and take the opportunity to go for a personal best.
We welcome all runners to our event from beginners in their first race, to local international runners and we are committed to helping all runners at all levels to achieve a PB in our event.
In the A-Race we have a generous prize structure and elite entry as detailed below to continue to strengthen our reputation as the strongest 5km race in the region.
In the B-Race have recruited PB Pacers who will run at a set pace from 20mins to 50mins with as many minutes covered from 20-50mins as we can – some of our volunteers will have ran in the A-Race and want to help others to a PB after their race!

Course Details
Run around the flat, out-back course along the Newcastle-Gateshead Quayside and take the opportunity to go for a personal best.
This event is hosted In partnership with Gateshead Harriers & AC. With over 800 entries in previous years, this is definitely an event to get involved in!
As always with RunThrough, you will each get water & post race goodies on the day. Each kilometre is accurately marked out with distance flags and we have plenty of helpers to keep you on track and to encourage you on your way to the finish!
