Ideal for those looking for a PB or completing their first half marathon.
As well as the lovely course, runners like the enthusiastic and friendly marshals, the efficient organisation and the bespoke medal and well stocked goody bag. After the race, you will be able to download a free race certificate with your personalised finish time on it.
Now in its sixth year, the start and finish are at spectacular Walton Bridge, Surrey. The route follows the River Thames towpath and roads to the south west of London. It is a perfect preparation event if you are running a late autumn marathon or you just want the challenge of completing a half marathon.
There is a cut off time of 2 hours 45 minutes. We request that you do not enter unless you are capable of running 12 and a half minutes per mile for 13.1 miles.

How to Get There
The first train arrives at Walton-on-Thames at 7.45am. The station is 1.4 miles from the start.
Travelling by train from Woking
Train arrives at Walton-on-Thames at 6.50am, 7.20am and 7.50am (correct at time of listing)

Course Details
The course has been accurately measured and holds a certificate of course accuracy (reference 17/368). It is a flat, mixed terrain course over public roads, with a 6 mile section on a good surface tow-path along the River Thames.
No dogs, accompanying vehicles or cycles are allowed on the course (with the exception of the organisers lead and tail bikes). We regret the course is not suitable for wheelchairs, prams or pushchairs. The course will be marked at each mile.
There is a cut off time of 2 hours 45 minutes. We request that you do not enter unless you are capable of running 12 and a half minutes per mile for 13.1 miles.
facilities
Storage will be available in a designated baggage area at the start/finish. Runners will drop off and collect their own bags, but stewards will monitor the area. The organisers regret we cannot accept responsibility for security and advise that competitors do not leave valuables in their bags.
There will be very limited changing facilities and we therefore recommend that runners come ready to race.
Portaloos will be sited at the start/finish.
Unfortunately, there are no shower facilities.
As well as your race number, you'll find a timing chip in your race pack (available to collect from a local collection point before race day, see entry tab, or at the start on race day). Follow the instructions for attaching it to your running shoe. Your chip will be detected as you cross the start and finish lines so you'll get a personalised time. Please make sure that you return your chip after finishing the race.
Professional first aid cover will be available to provide medical support if necessary.
On completion of the race, drinks and food will be available to purchase in the pubs and cafes in nearby Walton-on-Thames town centre.
Our sponsors Bodymechanics will be offering 15 minute sport massages after the race for just £10 (payable in cash only).
Water stations will be provided at approximately 3 mile intervals on the course, or the nearest safe place.
race packs
Race packs containing your race number, timing chip and final instructions will NOT be posted out but will be available to collect from a local collection point before race day, see entry tab.
They will also be available to collect from 7am at the start on race day. Please try and arrive at Walton Bridge one hour prior to the start to allow time to collect your race number and timing chip and attach these to your vest/t-shirt (don't forget to bring safety pins) and shoe respectively.
Pin your race number on the FRONT of your running vest or ‘T’ shirt, where it is most visible for race officials. Runners who do not have a properly displayed number or are identified as running under the wrong name will be liable to disqualification.
Please complete the form on the back of your number with your name, contact details and any medical condition. This will help in the event of an accident or illness.
- Race packs containing your race number, timing chip and final instructions will not be sent out to you but will be available for you to collect on 17th October and from 19th October to 4pm on 24th October at Rochills Estate Agents, 69 High Street, Walton-on-Thames, KT12 1DJ (about half a mile from the race start).
- They will also be available from the Race HQ under Walton Bridge from 7am on race day.
the start
Prior to the start runners must assemble in the holding area in Cowey Sale, under Walton Bridge. This is a pedestrian area. YOU MUST STAY THERE AND NOT OBSTRUCT THE MAIN ROAD. Marshals will walk you to the start line.
All competitors should try to arrive at least one hour before the start to allow time to collect your race number and timing chip from Race HQ. You will also need time for warming up and lining up. The Start is on the the road please assemble at Cowey Sale, under Walton Bridge, KT12 1BT. The race will start promptly at 8.30am. Listen for the race marshals instructions to guide you to the start at the appropriate time.
Please be realistic about your expected performance, line up according to how fast you plan to run. Slower runners should move to the back of the group. The race cut off time will be 2 hours and 45 minutes. Runners arriving after this time will be permitted to finish but may not be fully supported.
Please pay attention to the pre-race instructions. These are for the benefit of all runners, and will help guide you through the course and keep you safe. This advice is for your own safety and that of other road users.
You must be certain to run over the matting at the start line to ensure that your chip is registered.

Prizes will be awarded to the first three men and women; first W35, M40, W45, M50. There are also spot prizes courtesy of Bodymechanics Physiotherapy.

If you've unsubscribed, or not opened an email from us in a while, it's likely Mailchimp have listed you as 'cleaned', which prevents us emailing you race information until you re-subscribe. Race Packs will be available to collect 2 weeks before the event from Sporting Feet in Richmond (9 King St, London TW9 1ND) or from the event village on race morning. More information will be emailed to you closer to the time.
