Strathpuffer 24 MTB

Torachilty Forest, Strathpeffer, Scottish Highland

Contin, near Strathpeffer, Scotland

Sat 19th January 2019

Organiser's Description

Strathpuffer began in 2005 and was meant to be a one-off local event; somehow we now have a national event with legendary status. When it comes to mountain bike challenges, they don't come much tougher or more rewarding than Strathpuffer. A 24 hour MTB format with laps of a circa 12.5k course. Freezing temperatures; 17 hours of darkness; mile upon mile of gruelling terrain; a brutal mix of ice, wind, hail, mud and snow, and maybe, just maybe, a glorious Scottish Winter sunrise... Over the years we've had every possible type of weather โ€“ temperatures down to minus 10 and even sunshine โ€ฆ but then if we insist on staging an event in the Highlands of Scotland in the middle of Winter what do we expect?

The event is open to solos, pairs, teams of four and teams of eight for schools. 19/20 January.

24 hours 12.5 km laps
