London NW9 5LL, United Kingdom

Sat 31st August 2019

Organiser's Description

This year we are offering 800 runners the opportunity to run a 10K on the RAF London Museum historic airfield site. You will start under the Sunderland and run through the site, and then continue around the streets of Colindale, before coming back on site to finish on our ‘taxiway’. At the end of the race you will be awarded with an exclusive Spitfire 10K medal. We will also be holding the Spitfire Family Run.

Lovely medal and tee, but very uneven course. Not a bad race, but a lot of the course is on uneven pavements and on public roads which was a shame and you had to watch your footing constantly due to this. Some surprise bollards were in the way at certain points - if I runner blocked it, you wouldn't see it until you're on it, so it's a little dangerous and dodgy in some parts so runner beware. The finish also goes through H1 and not very well cordoned off, so you had to be careful of the public walking about. Otherwise, it was well organised and staff very lovely. Not sure I'd do it again though.
