Organiser's Description

**We are changing this to a fully marked and marshalled evening race, with a two hour start window with rolling starts, to ensure social distancing.**

This is the jewel in the crown of the Wild Night Run Series, this year with a great new route and great head torch prizes for all categories, sponsored by Petzl.

Take a walk on the wild side and follow your feet across Dartmoor, via the old naptha lines on a muddy, rocky, sometimes gnarly-sure to be fun, night epic from the Old School Community Centre in South Brent.

Or enter the WNR's slightly milder 5 mile cousin, which could be a stepping stone to the longer version.

Some wrapped food and hot drinks will be provided to take away outside the Community Centre.

Well organised and fun. Despite the inevitable route change, this was a great event - well-organised, friendly, suitably tough! Will definitely go again.

Unfortunate circumstances. On arrival at the check-in, we were notified that the route had been changed due to land owner issues and it would be 2 laps of the 5 mile route (lots of road) instead of the 10 mile, moorland run which was planned. I'm assured by those that have been there before that the 10 mile route is fantastic so I'd definitely go back to get on that route. My only criticism is that it would have been better for the organisers to contact everyone (social media) and explain the situation and offer a transfer to another race. Like a lot of people, I'm not a fan of lap type events, and much prefer out and back or loops. Genuinely gutted.
Hi Chris, Thanks for your feedback. Unfortunately the situation only arose on the day of the race (after lunch), so there was no time to inform people of the change before registration. Instead we had to focus on taking down the signs, contacting marshals and rearranging the course. Our fall back weather option is to do two laps of the Mild Night Run, which is not an easy course by any standards but has proportionally more tarmac than the longer route. We do appreciate that the enforced change, which came about as a result of a landowner removing our signs and refusing access to his land, must have come as some disappointment, especially if you wanted to do the original route, which is a popular route. In the end, our decision was the only one which would have ensured the safety and well being of participants. Kind regards The Organisers Something Wild Events
