Organiser's Description

27-29 May 2022, join us as we venture to Seathwaite, a stunning location just off the southern end of the Borrowdale Valley, south of Keswick in the Lake District National Park.

Nestled in the depths of a valley, this remote spot is the ideal playground for our trail race festival with direct access to the fells & surrounding idyllic countryside with lakes for a dip & refreshing soaks under waterfalls.

Choose from Mountain Marathon, Trail Half Marathon, 10K, 5K & Kids 1 mile distances. All levels welcome!

A mix of terrain including hard packed trails, rocky elevated fells & bridleways ways, taking in panoramic views of the Lake District!

How to Get There

They are approximately 50 minutes from the M6 at junction 40, Penrith.

Nearby Stonethwaite and Rosthwaite (both about 2.5 miles) have good country pubs that serve food.

The market towns of Cockermouth (a stunning 18 mile drive) and Keswick (an equally stunning drive of about 9 miles) are both in easy reach for those requiring supplies or retail therapy.

Location

Seathwaite Farm campsite is at the southern end of the Borrowdale Valley south of Keswick in the Lake District.

FAQs

  • Are the races open to all levels of trail runner?

    Yes. Trail Pursuit is inclusive for beginner & experienced trail runners alike. However, for the mountain marathon we recommend you have adequate fell running & mountain experience under your belt as there are challenging technical parts.

  • Do you need to navigate on these races?

    No, all routes are fully marked & marshalled so you can focus on the epic trail running.

  • Is there an age limit to enter the races?

    Yes. All individual entrants for 5K through to marathon must be aged 17 or over. This is to comply with UK Athletics guidance. For the Kids 1 Mile race any age between 5 - 12 years old.

  • Can adults run with juniors?

    Absolutely! Sharing the experience is fully encouraged.

  • Can I transfer my place to another runner?

    Yes, please do this before the cut off date 30 days before the event. This is to ensure administration, timing & logistics are taken care of.

  • When does the yoga, breathwork & navigation workshops take place?

    Our qualified yoga, breathwork & navigation teachers will lead sessions across the weekend. Exact times to be confirmed.

  • Do I need to bring a tent?

    Included in your RACE + FESTIVAL + CAMPING ticket is x2 nights camping At Seathwaite Farm, Friday - Sunday. Please bring your own tent & camping gear.

  • Can I bring a campervan?

    Yes, you're welcome to bring your camper! Please purchase your Campervan Pass separately at checkout. Want to run & stay in your campervan? Choose RACE & FESTIVAL Ticket & also add the Campervan Pass. Campervans will park in a separate field.

  • Can I bring a dog?

    We are canicross friendly! Please ensure your dog is at least 1 year of age & confident around other dogs & humans. We kindly ask you keep them on a lead throughout & please pickup & dispose of their poop!

Race Registration will take place from 3-8pm on Friday 27th May. Race Registration will also be open between 7-8.45am on Saturday 28th May.

Look out for signs to the registration tents, they will be clearly signed!

NB: An official warm up will take place approximately 15 minutes before the start of each race.

Camping

We are pleased to offer camping at Trail Pursuit: Lake District.

Camping located next to the start line.

Please note: - this is a basic campsite - fresh water tap & portaloos onsite - no electrical hookups available - no fire pits allowed
