Event summary
Races will kick off between 9:30 AM and midday, with start times confirmed closer to the event date. Participants are encouraged to bring their own bikes, as the trails are designed to be accessible on standard gravel or mountain bikes—no need for high-end gear! In light of any COVID-19 protocols, Treeathlon is committed to providing a safe race experience, including staggered starts and guidelines to ensure participants and spectators can enjoy the event responsibly. Organiser's Description
You can choose from 4 different distances to find a Treeathlon event that suits you, we have options for everyone who wants to take part.
Expect a challenge on our longer routes, which will take you over some pretty arduous terrain, while the shorter races are designed to be less challenging if this is your first multisport event.
Races begin between 9.30am and midday, we will confirm your start time closer to the event.
Racers are recommended to bring their own bike. Our trails do not require expensive or upmarket sports bikes, all distances will be comfortable on a basic gravel or mountain bike.
ARE THERE ANY COVID-19 PROTOCOLS IN PLACE?
Should we be required to put on a socially distanced event, participants will still get the full race experience but with individual rolling starts, 1 competitor every 10 seconds (sometimes greater), restricted time-on-site on either side of your race, and a possible limit on spectators per athlete only. We will prepare venue specific documents to send to all participants ahead of the event. These will include details on how to prepare pre-event and arrival times.
HOW FIT DO I NEED TO BE?
We have taken careful consideration to ensure there is a Treeathlon event for everyone. From our shortest distance, the 3km/5km run-ride, all the way up to the 15km/20km event. You can run, walk or sprint over whatever distance you feel comfortable with.

Parking
Yes! We will have FREE private parking on site for competitors and spectators with parking attendants ready to direct you on the day
Water Stations
There will be a free water refill station at our Start/Finish area where we encourage the use of reusable containers. We will also have refill stations with marshals around the course to refill as you need it.
Profits & Treeathlon
TREEATHLON exists to use the pleasure of adventure racing to raise money to combat climate change. All profits form the event will be used to fund organisations replanting trees in Africa. Our target for 2021 is to raise enough from TREEATHLON to plant 10,000 trees.
