Tyne Trail Ultra South

Garrigill, Cumbria

Garrigill, Cumbria

Sat 16th May 2020

Organiser's Description

An annual event, the Tyne Trail Ultra alternates each year between the North Tyne & South Tyne Trails. 2020 will be the turn of the South Tyne Trail. Starting from Garrigill in Cumbria, this fully supported 70k challenge finishes at the ‘Meeting of the Waters’ at Warden in Northumberland.

The River South Tyne is born in the North Pennines and offers a very different landscape to that of the North Tyne Trail. The route shows the River's many different moods, from tinkling trickle to majestic wilderness, as it passes through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) that includes waterfalls and deep ravines, making its way towards Warden.
