Ultra Great Britain - The Race Across Scotland

Portpatrick, Dumfries and Galloway

Portpatrick, UK

Sat 18th August 2018

Organiser's Description

A unique 214 mile (345km) ultra marathon following the Southern Upland Way from Portpatrick to Cockburnspath. A stunning marked trail reflecting back to us the turbulent history between Scotland and England. The voices and the lessons of the Killing Times in the 1600s echo in the forests, the valleys, and high on the mountains along the way. With 7648m of ascent, the route is Scotland’s only official coast-to-coast. Village halls across Scotland will unite to support runners, with live online GPS tracking of those taking on the challenge of a lifetime. Technically a non-stop event but limited rest is permitted and medical support is available at village halls en route. Post-Race Award Ceremony at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh. 18-22 August.
