Linford Wood Parkrun

Linford Wood
back

Overview

The course is 5000m (5K) long. The course is at Linford Wood, Milton Keynes. The course is run on a mixture of tarmac paths and gravel paths. Some sections of the course may accumulate mud, leaves and puddles after rain. Dependent on availability, marshals will be at key sections of the course, or signs will be in place.

Course Description

This is a windy, single lap, clockwise course, all on tarmac and gravel paths. Runners don’t go onto a soft surface or horse trail at any point during the run. At the end of the run, please remain alert. Please follow the marshal’s advice in order to be scanned and leave the area without obstructing finishing runners or other park users. The route starts on the Redway just north of the medical centre. Runners turn left and follow the Redway round the eastern edge of the wood. Runners are then guided by a marshal through the underpass into Conniburrow. Follow the Redway parallel to H4 Dansteed Way all the way into Bradwell Common, with marshals at key junctions. Once in Bradwell Common and up a short sharp hill, keep right except at the first underpass into Heelands which is ignored. At the bottom of a hill, a marshal will direct runners under the second underpass into Heelands. At the top of the next hill, take the first right at the five-point junction and run past the playing fields. Carry straight on this Redway, back into the Linford Wood grid square, until the first underpass on the route is visible again. At this point, runners head left into Linford Wood itself and follow the gravel path down the west side of the wood, passing the BP garage. Once at the north of the wood a marshal will direct runners right and into the heart of the wood, for one last scenic loop including the ‘wobbly path’. Runners re-emerge near the start and turn left for the finishing straight, to finish on a small grassy area near the cafe. The course will be marshalled and signposted.
