Organiser's Description
Green - Easy Trails - Low Elevation - Not very technical and ideal for new trail runners with sufficient fitness to complete the distance. Also good for road runners transitioning to trails.
Amber - Intermediate Trails - Some technical elements and increasing elevation.
The Chilterns is a heavily wooded Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty , The changing colours of the woods throughout the seasons is wonderous to see, as are the sky reaching trees throughout the forest areas. The runs is ideal for those looking to increase their time on feet, incorporate some moderately technical trails and starting building the strength to bring in strategies to deal with elevation.
This is a great run from Beaconsfield Train Station onto Browns Wood, then other such places such as great Beards Wood, Amersham Old Town, Penn Wood and other beautiful places. Towards the end if everyone is willing and it's not too busy then we may just stop at the oldest FREEHOUSE in England for one drink.
This is a social run, the pace will be steady and easy, we will run as a group where we will encourage and support each other around. There will be plenty of time for chatting, taking pictures and just enjoying the trails.
This run is ideal for those travelling in by train from London, it's a circular route and there is no need to bring a car. However, if you do travel by car then there is parking at the train station car park. at £5.50 for the day, always consider car sharing if you do.
Elevation 1662 ft (Approx)
Mainly flat, for a trail run :-) some intermediate of elevation, shorts sections of technical terrain.
NOTE:
PACING - All grades are run at a social pace, it is expected that all participants are capable of the distance advertised, we will run the easy bits and hike the hills, it is absolutely ok to be stepping up to new levels and all participants will receive support and encouragement from Trail-Run Explorers and each other. This is not a race; it is a social event.
