Experience Delamere in a new light and fall in love with the forest by taking part in the Delamere Dash this September. Take on the 5K or 10K route and experience all the enchanting elements of the forest with the flair of fall.

Course Information

The Delamere Dash offers a fantastic course that highlights the stunning scenery of Delamere Forest in the fresh air of autumn. The course is run on mixed terrains that include gravel paths and trail paths. Some areas of the course may become muddy after rainy weather. The route is mostly flat with lots of opportunities to achieve a personal best. The route will be sign posted and marshalled so all you need to do is follow the signs and enjoy all that the forest has to offer. Hopefully, some of the wonderful wildlife like squirrels and birds will be there to cheer you on!

Course Details

Delamere Dash offers a fantastic course which is perfect for seasoned runners looking for a personal best, or a picture-perfect introduction into races for those who are just starting out.

What's Included

The Delamere Dash will be an inaugural event that you don’t want to miss. There will be a welcome area to collect race numbers, bag drop area and first aid set up at the event. The route will be signposted and marshalled, as you cross the finish line you will be greeted with a cascade of music and cheering to celebrate your fantastic accomplishment.

How to Get There

By Car
There are several places to park at Delamere Forest. There will be a small charge for those utilising the car park areas. Payments can be made by cash or card.

Treetops Car Park - close to Delamere train station. Its favourable location is only a 5-minute walk away from the forest centre.

Whitefield Car Park - located off the B5152 and features ample parking space. The car park has a Pay and Display system.

Main Visitor Centre Car Park - adjacent to the central facilities. It has a number of accessible parking spaces.

By Train
Delamere Railway Station is located on Station Road.
The station is a 15-minute walk from the start line.
Marshals and signage will be located near the train station to direct you to the check in area.
There are hourly trains from Chester and Manchester Piccadilly that travel straight to Delamere Forest train station. Please check the train services for up-to-date train times and information. https://www.northernrailway.co.uk/stations/delamere

Delamere Forest is the setting for our first independent running event, it’s a fantastic forest that spans over 2,400 acres!
The forest is home to many cute creatures such as the Spotted Woodpecker, Squirrels, and Southern Hawker Dragonfly. 🐿🐦

  • When and where is the event?

    Delamere Dash takes place on Sunday 18th of September 2022; the event will be held at Delamere Forest. The arrival time for the event is from 9:00am to 9:45am, the 5K run starts at 10:00am and the 10K run starts at 10:10am. The finish time for the whole event is 1:00pm.

  • Where is the start and finish line?

    The start area is a 10-minute walk from the check in area which is located near the Delamere Forest Café and Information Centre. The postcode for the check in area is CW8 2JD. The start line will be clearly outlined in the event email sent out to you a week before the event. Marshalls will be stationed near the train station and car parks to direct you to the check in and start area. These areas will also be clearly sign posted.

  • How do I collect my race number?

    You can pick up your race number at the Delamere Dash on race day from the start area from between 9:00 am and 9:45 am. Please ensure that you arrive on time for the event if you arrive after the allotted time you will be unable to take part as we are on a strict schedule and no refund will be issued.

  • Can I defer my place, have a refund, or give my place away?

    Unfortunately, we are unable to offer refunds or deferrals. Places cannot be traded or given away. This is due to the costs associated in the preparation and planning of the event.

  • I’ve signed up but I want to change my distance, can I do this?

    If you’d like to change your distance then please email us at [email protected].

  • Can I register on the day?

    Entries on the day are available at the set price of £25 and can be purchased from the check in area that is located near the Delamere Forest Café and Information centre. This is subject to availability. If we sell out prior to event day then registration will not be available.

  • Can we run as a team?

    You are more than welcome to register as a team and do the race together!

  • Can I bring an animal with me on the day?

    Animals are not permitted on the Delamere Dash Course. We are unable to allow guide/support dogs on the course, if you require a guide runner, you will need to contact us prior to the event with their details. Chip timing will only be offered to runners registered with the event.

  • Is there a baggage drop?

    There is a baggage drop located at the start area, the location will be signposted when you arrive at the event.

  • Is there medical aid at the event?

    There will be medical aid available to all runners, this will be provided by Urgent Care Northwest.

  • Where are the toilets located?

    The toilets are located at check in next to the café and information centre. The toilets will be clearly signed posted.

  • How will I be kept up to date on important information?

    We will keep in contact with you through email and we will also post updates in our Roys Runners Facebook group and Facebook event page. You will receive an event email approximately one week prior to the event with all the important information you’ll need for event day.

  • How do I change my personal information?

    If you need to update any of your information, please just email us at [email protected] as soon as possible so we can update it for you.

  • Spectator Information

    We are more than happy for you to bring friends and family along to the event. There will be an allocated area at the start and finish area for your friends and family to cheer you on.

  • Can I volunteer on the day?

    We would love to have you volunteer with us; we believe volunteers are vital to the success of Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation. Volunteers provide a diverse range of skills, perspectives, experience, and knowledge. We aim to make volunteering both enjoyable and rewarding. Our volunteer positions are the perfect opportunity to develop new skills, meet supporters and make a worthwhile contribution to the success of the UK’s only charity dedicated to supporting everyone affected by lung cancer. We have a range of different volunteering opportunities for the Delamere Dash that include marshalling, manning the water station and engaging with the runners.
