Organiser's Description

THE DARTMOOR VOLCANO RACE is a fully marked and marshaled 10.5-mile tour of the Southern Moor, with over 550 metres of ascent.

10th anniversary edition in 2026!

It’s not a ‘walk in the park’, it’s the Dartmoor National Park, and the race visits the high points of Pupers Hill, Snowdon, and South Dartmoor’s highest point – Ryders Hill. And of course the infamous Red Lake Volcano!

The date for the 2026 Dartmoor Volcano race is Saturday 12th September. We are going for another Saturday event after a successful 2025. Usual anti-clockwise route!

The race starts and finishes in the village of Scoriton, (TQ110JB) on the edge of Dartmoor. 4 miles from the A38, Buckfastleigh/Ashburton junction.
