The Maverick Adidas Terrex Original Mendips 2024

SATURDAY 13 APRIL 2024
MENDIPS RACEWAY

We return to the stunning Mendips Hills for a third time to bring you the Maverick Original Mendips trail running race.

The route follows the West Mendip Way dropping down into the forests of Roweberrow Warren before climbing up to Black Down heathland (the highest hill in the Mendips!). Those brave enough to take on the Long Route will experience breathtaking views from along the top of Cheddar Gorge, stretching out towards Glastonbury and you might even catch a glimpse of the Seven Bridge. Whilst moving through this epic scenery keep an eye out for some of Somerset's rarest and most celebrated wildlife including the herds of feral goats, Soay sheep and Peregrine falcons.

Please note, there is no outpost on the Short route.

Choose your route carefully. The distance and elevation gain should give you some indication as to how easy/hard each route is, as well as showing you where the tougher climbs are.

Distance: 7 km
Elevation Gain: +160 m

As with all Maverick events you can expect up to 3 on-course hydration and nutrition outposts provided by Precision Fuel & Hydration. There will also be prizes for the winners of each distance, male and female.

As a guide you should always:

• Follow the on course signage

• Listen to on course marshals

• Take care when crossing roads

• Be considerate to others

• Please close all gates, DO NOT litter!

PLASTIC FREE

In our quest to make this season plastic-free, we ask that you run with a reusable cup or bottle. Hydrapak Speed Cups are available to purchase at each event and online.

TRANSFERS

If for any reason you wish to transfer out from an event we are happy to do this, but once only. You may transfer to any event listed on our website or even change to a higher value event and pay the difference. We cannot action any transfers or refunds for an event that has sold out.

The last day to transfer out of an event is the Monday before event day (5 days before the event), please email us on [email protected] with the name of the event you would like to move to. We are not able to move you out of an event if you contact us after this day

Great running and scenery. First of many for me! Only thing was there was about 8 toilets and 10 minutes before the race start there was about 100 people queing.... So definitely need more loos.
