Organiser's Description

A stunning sell-out Half Marathon in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside... it's how racing was meant to be.

This is a Nice Work race
This means that this is an original Nice Work race, fully hosted and organised by us.

Event Overview:
The Tissington Trail Half Marathon has established itself as a real favourite with runners, often selling out months in advance and we hold this race on two dates across one weekend to accommodate as many runners as possible.  We're proud that the race regularly features in the Runner's World top 10 UK trail races.

The Tissington Trail, the site of a former railway line from Ashbourne to Buxton, runs along a 13 mile route from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne in Derbyshire. Surrounded by beautiful countryside the traffic-free trail is ideal for a cracking half marathon and because the route is slightly downhill all the way, you've got gravity on your side!   This is a rare opportunity to run a half marathon in Derbyshire without hills!

Course Overview:
The race is a point to point race from Parsley Hay to Ashbourne along the traffic-free Tissington Trail. Coach transport will take you from the Race HQ in Ashbourne to the Race Start in Parsley, you then run back along the trail to reach the finish! The route is slightly downhill virtually all the way, so it's a great course for runners of all abilities and a fantastic introduction to the half marathon for runners wanting to try this distance.
Although the route is traffic-free, the trail will still be open to other trail users, including cyclists, walkers and horse-riders.
