UK Ultimate Weekend 2023

FRIDAY afternoon is the starting event with the UK ULTIMATE SWIM. Choose from either a 2.4 mile, 1.2 mile, or 0.6 mile swim challenge in the fabulous Mere.

SATURDAY sees the UK ULTIMATE CYCLE SPORTIVE around the picturesque Shropshire countryside. You can choose the Ultimate 112 miles, the Half 56 miles, or the Quarter at 28 miles.

SUNDAY is the UK ULTIMATE RUN. You can go full marathon in the Ultimate 26.2 miles, Half marathon 13.1 miles, or the Quarter distance of 6.5 miles.

Every competitor will receive an individual medal for each of the swim, cycle, run disciplines and those taking on the full ULTIMATE WEEKEND CHALLENGE will receive a commemorative T-shirt.

There will be on-site camping (limited spaces), catering and kids play area making it a great weekend for all the family and one not to be missed!

Full and up-to-date 2023 competitor race day information with your race number and start time will be emailed to you 7-10 days before the event.

WE DO NOT POST ANYTHING OUT - you will collect your race numbers, tattoos, stickers etc. at registration on the day.

Please take some time to read all the event information, it will make it far more enjoyable for you and reduce the need to ask questions over the weekend.

Only people who are female sex at birth are eligible to compete in the Female category.

All individuals including transgender people are eligible to compete in the Open category. Responses to this question will enable us to allocate competitors into the correct race category as required under the British Triathlon Transgender Policy effective 1 January 2023.

We will be taking a water temperature friday afternoon.

We advise that all competitors bring their wetsuit as well as suitable swim attire.

Swim safety buoys are allowed if no wetsuit is worn. (Please see table below).

WETSUIT USE
a.) The use of wetsuits is forbidden or mandatory if the following combinations of distance and water temperature are attained:

Up to 1500m
Aged up to and including 59yrs
Mandatory below 14c
Forbidden above 22c

Up to 1500m
Aged 60yrs and above
Mandatory below 14c
Forbidden above 24.6c

1501m and above
All ages
Mandatory below 16c
Forbidden above 24.6c

There are trophies for Top three finishers for the Ultimate Full, Half and Quarter Weekend.

There will be age group awards for first place finishers in every five year age group for the Ultimate Full, Half and Quarter Weekend.

Start times as follows;

Swim: Full from 5pm - Half from 5pm Quarter from 5pm

Cycle: Full from 8.30am - Half from 9.30am Quarter from 8am

Run: Full from 8.30am - Half from 8.30am Quarter from 8.30am

The cut off times are as follows:

Swim: 9pm

Bike: 5.30pm

Run: 4pm

Full - 2.4 mile swim - 112 mile cycle - 26.2 mile run

Half - 1.2 mile swim - 56 mile cycle - 13.1 mile run

Quarter - 0.6 mile swim - 28 mile cycle - 6.5 mile run
