A Day In The Lakes Triathlon

Pooley Bridge, Ullswater, Cumbria

Park Foot Camping and Caravan Site, Pooley Bridge, CA10 2NA.

Sun 20th June 2021

Organiser's Description

A tough, mixed terrain half Iron Man distance triathlon in beautiful surroundings. The swim will be in the crystal clear Ullswater; the cycle ride takes in some legendary climbs; a trail run along the base of Barton Fell to finish. A fantastic course, possibly the most challenging in the Country. Also on offer is a 1/4 Iron distance race, with no major climbs but it is an extremely good bike route on fabulous roads with enough undulation to keep the climbers happy.

The challenging mostly off-road run was amended in 2019 and is now exactly 13.2 miles. The Quarter Iron run route is also challenging but beautiful. Both routes have spectacular views along Ullswater.

Distances

2000m swim, 56 mile bike, 13.2 mile run 1000m swim, 28 mile bike, 6.7 mile run
