Hever Castle Triathlon
Hever Castle Triathlon has established itself as an essential destination for British and international triathletes, for its picture postcard venue, elite action, age-group choice and festival atmosphere. Put simply, instant classic doesn’t do the Hever Castle Triathlon justice.
The races will again commence with an open-water swim in the spectacular 38 acre Hever Castle Lake and River Eden, transitioning into the undulating cycle that takes athletes around a circuit through the High Weald of Kent, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and up to the stunning Ashdown forest for the longer distance races. The largely off-road run circumnavigates the estate and award-winning castle grounds before athletes make the dash to the tree-lined finishing chute beside the lake. Distance options, including children's races, also aquathlon, duathlon and aquabike standard and sprint events.
We want to reassure all participants that we’re working with governments, governing bodies, venues and suppliers to ensure that our 2020 events are run in accordance with current health and safety guidance.
Our increased health and safety measures cover 4 key principles of education; touch point reduction, density reduction, athlete self-reliance and enhanced hygiene.
Participants will still get the full race experience but with individual rolling starts, 1 competitor every 10 seconds (sometimes greater), restricted time on site either side of your race and 1 spectator per athlete only.
We are preparing venue specific documents which we will share here shortly and send to all participants ahead of the event, which will include details on how to prepare pre-event, arrival timings and movements, swim, cycle, run, festival village and exit.
If you like to watch a video of our preparations for Castle Howard you can do so here.
All competitors will receive a medal
Each 1st place winner will also receive a suitably themed trophy, and sponsor’s prizes for 2nd and 3rd place. There is a significant prize pot on offer for the Olympic and Gauntlet race distances.
Festival theme with live music, a climbing wall, children’s inflatables, yoga and an array of retail outlets and concessions.
A variety of locally-sourced foods, with succulent hog roasts and wood fired pizza just two of the highlights, with a huge variety of refreshments for competitors and spectators alike.

The historic Castle grounds will be open for exploration, with lakeside walks and nature and wildlife spotting
