Hever Castle Triathlon, Swim, Run

Sat 25th September 2021 - Sun 26th September 2021

A group of athletes in wetsuits and swim caps prepares to enter a misty river for a swim. Some are cautiously stepping into the water from stone steps, while others are already in the water, adjusting their positions and getting ready to swim. A group of people in swimsuits stand near the edge of a large pond or lake, preparing for a swim event. Behind them is a historic stone building with arches and columns, set against a backdrop of trees in early autumn. The scene is calm with reflections on the water. Three cyclists in racing gear ride on a curved road with a lush, green countryside in the background. The sun is either setting or rising, casting a warm glow on the scene. An old building with a distinctive pointed roof is visible among the trees on the left.

Organiser's Description

The UK’s second biggest triathlon, the World’s largest children’s triathlon and the finale of both the Castle Tri Series and the UK triathlon season. Hever Castle Triathlon has established itself as an essential destination for British and international triathletes, for its picture postcard venue, elite action, age-group choice and festival atmosphere. Put simply, instant classic doesn’t do the Hever Castle Triathlon justice.

The races will again commence with an open-water swim in the spectacular 38 acre Hever Castle Lake and River Eden, transitioning into the undulating cycle that takes athletes around a circuit through the High Weald of Kent, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and up to the stunning Ashdown forest for the longer distance races. The largely off-road run circumnavigates the estate and award-winning castle grounds before athletes make the dash to the tree-lined finishing chute beside the lake. Distance options, including children's races, also aquathlon, duathlon and aquabike standard and sprint events, plus swim and run events.
