The Richmond Half Marathon is part of a weekend which also includes the Richmond RUNFEST Marathon, and the Kew Gardens 10k. The Half and Full Marathon start within the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and finish in the Old Deer Park in Richmond.

Tour the gardens before passing historical assets including Ham House, Richmond Palace, Teddington Lock, and the meandering River Thames, finishing at a fantastic finish festival and fitness expo with live music in Old Deer Park.

Course Details

Multi-terrain, professionally measured and certified, flat course
All on road and path inside Kew Gardens before running along the Thames Towpath. Please expect to run on flat path, road, gravel and grass during the 13.1 miles. The course is flat as a pancake.

How to Get There

Great public transport via Kew Gardens Tube Station, Kew Bridge Station or Richmond Station (and a bus)

Please take weekend public transport timetables and delays into consideration. There are facilities in Kew Gardens serving hot drinks and food so come early and enjoy the surroundings before your run.

race timings

We strongly advise all runners, regardless of which race you are competing in, to arrive more than 1 hour before your race. Friends and family who arrive late (after 08:30am) will have to pay a normal Kew Gardens ticket (visit Kew Gardens website for prices).

water stations

We have water stations at 3 miles (water), 7.5 miles (water & Maurten drink), 9.7 miles (Water), 11.6 miles (water) and at the finish line.

race packs

Race Packs will be sent out in the post 1 week before the event. If you have not received it by the Tuesday before the event, please contact us.

If you are traveling to the race from outside the UK you are an International runner and will collect your race pack from the International Packet Pickup. Full details on this will be sent via email closer to the race.

spectator admission

Runners are permitted to bring friends/family into Kew Gardens (via Elizabeth Gate, Kew Green) to watch them start BEFORE 9:15am! There is NO ADMISSION into Kew Gardens after this time. Spectators do not have to be with their runner to gain access but must arrive on time and can only gain access Elizabeth Gate (postcode TW9 3AE).

Please note Dogs are NOT ALLOWED inside Kew Gardens but are welcome at the finish line in Old Deer Park.

After this time, we suggest spectators head to Old Deer Park (TW9 2SF) to welcome you through the finish-line. Dogs are welcome at the finish line.
