Sun 20th September 2026

Aerial view of an ornate stone gatehouse and path leading to it, surrounded by expansive green fields and bordered by trees. The sky is partly cloudy, with the sun casting warm light over the landscape. A winding path stretches through a sunlit park with neatly trimmed grass. Trees with protective wooden enclosures line the pathway. Fluffy white clouds scatter across the blue sky, casting gentle shadows on the ground. A majestic deer with large antlers stands in an open field. In the background, an elegant historic building with domes and a flag is visible under a clear blue sky. Two women smiling and holding medals after a race. Both wear running gear with race bibs, one holding bananas and the other a drink, standing outdoors on grass with a red event tent and a historic building in the background. Runners and marshals gather at an outdoor race event. Marshals in yellow vests guide participants, while a runner in black drinks water. Banners and tents are visible in the background on a cloudy day. A red canopy tent shelters a refreshment station with snacks and drinks. Three volunteers in yellow vests stand behind the tables, while two people wearing running gear stop to refuel. Stone walls and grass are visible in the background.

Took part in the marathon event on Sunday 29th June. Really well organised event with plenty of drinks stations fully stocked with water, electrolytes, Coca Cola, chocolates and sweets which was much needed as the temperature went up to around 27 degrees. Unfortunately, this meant I had a bit of a light headed and dizzy spell around 33km but the team at the drinks station were brilliant. Continued to provide drinks and help to me and called the medic to check me over. Couldn’t have asked for more from them! The course was tricky as the terrain is mostly trails and fields with some smaller sections of paved roads.

Great set up, fantastic stewards and volunteers. Very well organised. Two points to improve. 1. More toilets to avoid long queues. 2. More water stations round the half marathon course. Such a hot day for only 2 stations.
