The Maze Runner

Organiser's Description

The race is within the beautiful scenery/greenery of Pembrey Country Park and the surrounding woodland and beach, no public highways are used. The distance you run will depend on your choices at the marshalled junctions and will be a minimum of 8k and a maximum of 14k.

Whilst these are not mud races we are dependent on the weather so be prepared for some soft ground, standing water and muddy patches. It is strongly recommended that runners wear appropriate clothing for the time of year, especially footwear, to avoid injuries.

All runners get a race T shirt and there will be a top quality medal awarded to all finishers and also trophies will be awarded to the first three finishers. The winners names will also be entered onto the main trophy which will be the Warrior’s Shield, there will be photo opportunities and a race video.

The courses will be well marshalled and manned water stations will be in place. Camping is available together with hot & cold food and drinks.

Toilets facilities will be provided and ample parking is available and can be booked in advance via Pembrey Country Parks's website.

There will also be a free massage, provided by the students from Carmarthen University, for anybody who needs one!

Course Details

    11.30am

  • Is it unique?

    Yes as the distance covered is down to whatever choices the runners make, and, there will be 2 mazes to negotiate

  • Is it traffic free?

    Yes

  • Will there be marshals?

    Yes equipped with walkie talkies, also Barrier tape and direction markers will be utilised.

  • Are there water stations?

    Yes, around the course and at the start/finish.

  • Are there distance markers?

    No distance markers in the Maze Runner as it depends on runner's choice at junctions Yes every kilometre in the Multi Terrain & Challenge Races

  • What is the terrain?

    Gravel track, woodland trail, beach and small amount of tarmac/concrete path.

  • Are their toilets?

    Yes toilets will be available inside and outside the Park cafe near the start.

  • Can spectators watch?

    Yes there are plenty of places around the route for spectators to sit/watch etc.

  • Is the course suitable for wheelchairs?

    Unfortunately not the event is not wheelchair friendly.
