Organiser's Description

Wigan 10k 2020 - the 8th year of the Wigan 10k.

This is perfect route for a fast and flat 10k. Those chasing PB's love the Wigan 10k with our male race record standing at an impressive 30 minutes 44 seconds set in 2019 and the female race record 34 minutes 46 seconds.

We see up to 3,000 runners line up on Market Street in the town centre and 500 register in the Family Mile.

Live entertainment lines the route and hundreds of spectators along the course cheer our runners on.

Continental markets and live music on the main stage in the town centre for pre and post race entertainment. With 100% proceeds directly to our organising charity Joining Jack.

Our goody bags are jam packed and our brilliant bling mean the Wigan 10k is one you shouldn't miss!

Best 10k in the north west. I've done the Wigan 10k since it started and this was year was the 7th. Very well organised event with town supporting it fully. The town centre has every thing you would expect at a running event but with a huge stage, live bands, food festival and outdoor bar. There are usually between 2500 and 3000 runners and the route leaves the town centre out to the DW stadium and returns back through the local park. All roads have full closures and the public are all round the route with live bands. Water stations at 5k and unofficial one that you pass on the way out and back (great touch and thank you to them). The last 1k is fully lined with supporters cheering you on to and beyond the finish line where you collect your goodie bag and medal. Goodie back contains Water Banana Uncle Joe's mints Healthy snack bars and adverts from the sponsors. Last note it's the only race I sign on to as soon as it opens. The run is a credit to its organisers, the town of Wigan and its charity Joining Jack. See you all in 2020
